About Amir Ahmadian

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation | Interventional Pain Medicine

Amir Ahmadian, DO, is an interventional pain physician at DYNAMIC Pain & Wellness, serving people in the Panhandle of Florida, Dothan, AL and Mobile, AL.

Dr. Ahmadian completed his undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Austin, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology.

Following graduation, Dr. Ahmadian began his medical career at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.

He then continued his training at the Texas A&M Baylor Scott and White Health System for his Preliminary Internal Medicine graduate medical education training before heading to the prestigious UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX for his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency training.

During residency training, Dr. Ahmadian was actively involved in research I the filed of pain medicine including studying the effects of depression on opioid intake among patients admitted inpatient rehabilitation units. Additionally, Dr. Ahmadian completed his DEA X-waiver training and worked to combat the opioid epidemic by offering medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to patients suffering from opioid use disorder (OUD).

Before joining the team at DYNAMIC Pain & Wellness, Dr. Ahmadian completed his ACGME-accredited pain medicine fellowship at UT Health San Antonio. In fellowship, Dr. Ahmadian continued his scholarly activities by contributing to literature on hip articular branch radiofrequency ablation and peripheral nerve stimulation for the management of lateral femoral cutaneous nerve entrapment.

Additionally, Dr. Ahmadian has continued his involvement in national medical organizations including serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Resident and Fellow Section of the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) where he contributed to creating the social media campaign to provide educational and leadership opportunities to trainees interested in neuromodulation.

Dr. Ahmadian is fluent in English and Farsi. His interests as a pain management specialist include neuromodulation, co-morbid mental health and substance use disorder among patients with chronic pain syndromes and use of multi-modal pain management including the use of mind-body interventions. 

Dr. Ahmadian proudly holds membership in multiple national medical organizations including North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS), American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA), and American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R).

Outside of medicine Dr. Ahmadian enjoys spending time with his fiancé and 2 adorable cats, travelling, cooking and yoga.
